9 Natural Face Wash Recipes You Can Make

A natural face wash is always better than a store bought one. You will need just a few ingredients & a bottle.

Here are 9 natural cleanser recipes:

 

Green Tea Face Wash

Green Tea is high in antioxidants and has anti aging properties. It also fights acne and heals blemishes. Washing your face with green tea will flush out the toxins from the skin and leave your skin radiant and rejuvenated.

You will need:

  • 1/4 Castile Soap
  • 1/4 Green Tea
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Optional:

  • Essential Oils
  • Vitamin E

Brew the green tea and let it cool.

In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and add the green tea. Mix, then pour into a bottle.

 

Honey Face Wash

Honey is famous for its antibacterial, healing and anti-inflammatory properties, making it an excellent cleanser. It’s often used in many skin products. It is high in antioxidants and is a humectant that will leave your skin moisturized.

You will need:

  • 1/4 Castile Soap
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • 1/4 Raw Honey

Optional:

  • Vitamin E
  • Essential Oils

Add the honey to the castile soap, then add the oils. Mix everything together.

* For sensitive skin, you can add brewed chamomile tea.

 

Rose Face Wash

  • 1/4 Castile Soap

Pour rose water in the castile soap and add the oils, then stir.

 

Coconut Milk Face Wash

Coconut Milk is super moisturizing and high in fatty acids and vitamin C & E. It will leave your skin nourished, supple and soft.

You will need:

  • 1/4 Castile Soap
  • 1/4 Coconut Milk
  • 2 tbsp Coconut Oil/any other oil

Optional:

  • Glycerin
  • Vitamin E
  • Essential Oils

Add the ingredients to the castile soap and mix together.

 

Tea Tree Face Wash

Tea tree oil can heal acne. In fact, a study showed that it can even be as effective as benzoyl peroxide. It also helps reduce blemishes. The antibacterial and antimicrobial properties in this powerful oil make it a great natural cleanser.

You will need:

  • 1/4 Castile Soap
  • Distilled Water
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 5-10 Drops Tea Tree Oil

Optional:

  • Honey
  • Rosewater
  • Vitamin E

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir.

 

Shea Butter Face Wash

Shea butter is an amazing natural moisturizer and rich in vitamins A, E and F, as well as fatty acids. It boosts collagen production and helps reduce wrinkles. It is also non comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog your pores making it great if you have acne prone skin.

You will need:

  • 1/4 Castile Soap
  • 1 tsp Shea
  • 2 Tbs Oil
  • Distilled Water

Optional:

  • Glycerin
  • Vitamin E

Add the water and shea to a bottle, then pour the castille soap and the oil. Shake.

Black Soap Face Wash

Black Soap has many skin benefits. It cleanses and moisturizes and treats many skin problems including acne.

You will need:

  • 100% Natural Black Soap
  • Oil
  • Water

Cut up the soap into pieces. Put the pieces in the container and fill up with distilled/boiled hot water. Once it melts, add the oil and mix/shake.

 

Charcoal Face Wash

Charcoal can deep clean your skin, get rid of toxins, excess oil and minimise pores.

You will need:

  • Activated Charcoal
  • 1/4 Cup Castile Soap
  • 5 Tea Tree Oil Drops
  • Distilled Water

Combine all the ingredients and add the charcoal. Mix the ingredients.

Cleansing Balm

You can make a cleansing balm that is also great at removing makeup.

You will need:

  • Cocoa/Shea Butter/Coconut Oil
  • Oils of your choice

Optional: 

  • Essential Oils
  • Vitamin E

Melt the cocoa/shea butter/coconut oil over a double boiler. Add the oils. Mix well & pour in a container/jar. Let it cool until solid.

 

If you have oily skin/acne prone skin, make sure to only use non comedogenic oils!

If you want to add your own essential oils, get the castile soap without them.

You can try adding ingredients to each recipe and make different combinations e.g honey to coconut to make honey coconut milk face wash, aloe vera and honey to green tea, aloe and rose water to green tea, etc.
